Active CornerGrip
Goodyear's Active CornerGrip technology enables you to manoeuvre tight turns with the greatest of ease.
Characteristics
When cornering, the car's weight distribution tends to move to the shoulder. Grip on the outside of the tread increases while grip on the inner tyre dramatically decreases. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric was developed with the objective of increasing the tyre-to-road contact area by distributing more even pressure across the width of the tread patch.
Safe Handling
A layer of aramid (a flexible material that's five times stronger than steel) in the inner sidewall reinforces the compression during cornering for a more even pressure distribution across the contact patch, providing more grip.
The tread footprint of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric is far less triangular than its predecessor's. This means more road contact across the entire width of the tyre tread and far more grip around corners.
Armorgrip Technology
Learn more about the Armorgrip technology behind Goodyear tyres' safe and effective braking.
3-Dimensional Waffle Blades
The 3-D waffle blade system evolved from bubble blade technology. It enables improved lateral interlocking power, while providing maximised circumferential decoupling for better braking and grip on wet and dry roads.
Advanced silica-based tread compound
Chemical bonding with rubber polymers enables better braking, as well as improved grip on wet and dry roads.
DuPont™ KEVLAR®
DuPont™ KEVLAR®, a lightweight material that is five times stronger than steel gives added protection.
Silica-reinforced Durawall compound
A tighter bonding chemical network in the tyre's sidewall provides increased resistance to cuts and tears for added protection against road hazards.
3 Zone Technology
Safety, handling and comfort: Goodyear tyres with 3 Zone Technology deliver on all three counts. Find out how.
Safety Zone
With its combination of a special Silica composition and wide circumferential grooves, Goodyear Excellence optimises braking performance and precise handling in any driving conditions
An inclined block tread and wide circumferential grooves in the Safety Zone improve water evacuation, providing superior braking and handling performance.A special formulation of Silica, created from a natural Silica Compound and an innovative polymer, provides excellent handling performance in wet and dry conditions. Moreover, it minimises rolling resistance and helps to save fuel.
Handling Zone
A rigid and solid outer shoulder in the Handling Zone provides better grip for improved cornering power and exceptional braking. This ensures safe and crisp handling, superior cornering, and sharp braking, even in difficult driving conditions.
Comfort Zone
A rubber cushion in the Comfort Zone improves suspension and dampens vibration, providing a comfortable and quiet ride.
SilentArmor Technology
SilentArmor Technology
Not every Fortera gets to wear the SilentArmor Technology shield. The key to SilentArmor Technology lies just beneath the tread. A super absorbant layer between the tyre's tread and underlying belts helps the new tyre deliver a ride that feels more like a passenger car.
